Nick Sheffey Memorial Tree

Many, many thanks to all of you who donated time and money to help us fund a memorial tree for Nick Sheffey. We were able to get a HUGE Red Sunset Maple tree. It’s beautiful! If you haven’t seen it, go check it out – it’s right in front of the pool, by the main entrance.

Also, many thanks to Huntley Hills neighbor, Ryan Tracy of Escape... Outdoor Lifescaping, 404-642-3408
He found us the tree and handled all the installation details. You can find his business on Facebook:

I’ve put photos of the tree on our Facebook Page:

In addition to the tree, we also raised enough money for a plaque and super awesome bike rack – which we will install this Spring.

Thanks Everyone!

Coat Drive

Hello!

Our 1st Annual Huntley Hills Thanksgiving Coat Drive is underway!! Please bring any gently used coats to the Huntley Hills Swim and Tennis Club this Saturday (19th) from 10 am to 12 pm or next Monday (21st) from 5pm to 6:30 pm. If you can’t make either of these drop off times but would like to donate, please email me off-line and we can make separate arrangements.

We are going to give the majority of the coats to the children and parents in need at our own Huntley Hills Elementary School. If we have additional coats, we will be working with local churches to make sure our donations reach fellow Chamblee residents.

Thanks!

Hi Neighbors,

Our Swim and Tennis Club is sponsoring a Coat Drive for Thanksgiving this year! We will be collecting gently used coats (in all sizes) and will distribute them throughout our Huntley Hills and Chamblee community. There are LOTS of children and families in need (many in our own neighborhood that you probably don’t even know about) and we hope you’ll consider them as you get your own coat racks ready for the winter season.

We have not finalized the drop-off dates/times yet, but it will be sometime late next week and the week of Thanksgiving. I wanted to send this out now so you will have time to go through your closets :)

Stay tuned for additional details...

Thanks,

Halloween Photos/Video and Tennis Team Opening

Hi Members,

Our Halloween Party was great! We had over 70 families attend - our
biggest crowd yet!

I've posted photos on our Facebook Page:
http://www.facebook.com/HHSTC

There are some additional photos (including the portraits taken at the
entrance) on the HH Neighborhood Association's Facebook Page:
http://www.facebook.com/huntleyhillsna

I also put some short videos on our YouTube Channel (the links are on
the right):

Many thanks to our co-sponsor, Barbra Neuman Wollner and her team at
Keller Williams Reality, for helping to share the costs of the party
and the labor of putting it together and cleaning up afterwards.

We are working on some exciting plans for Thanksgiving and
Christmas...stay tuned.

In other news - one of our tennis teams is looking for a new member.
Here are the details:

Alta Mixed Doubles
Season: 2012 Winter (practice starts in December, season starts in
early January)
Player: Male
Level: B1 (competitive)
Practice: Tuesday or Wednesday (7-9 pm)
Matches: Sunday afternoon starting at 1pm
If interested, email Chad Henderson (chad@metalsdirectllc.com)

We have had a couple of Board meetings since the pool has been closed
and are already getting things ready for the 2012 swim season. We have
made some important (and exciting!) decisions and will be sharing all
the news at our annual meeting - sometime in January. We will keep you
posted :)

Till next time,
