We may have just seen snow, but it’s not too early to get excited about the pool opening – summer is right around the corner! The Club is stronger and more active than ever before and this year is going to be amazing. Best bargain in town!

Sat, March 21st - Work Day (this year we are paying members $25 to attend a work day!)
Sun, March 29th - Hammerhead Swim Team Sign-up/Suit fitting - Important, & we need as many kids as possible!
Sat, March 28th - Poker night is back! And perhaps March Madness at the Clubhouse. Details to come.
Thurs April 2nd - Spirit night at Chik Fil-A. Skip the cooking & help our swim team raise money.
Sat, April 25th - Work Day
Sat, May 2nd - Spring Fling (low-country boil, corn hole tournaments, and other exciting surprises!)
Sat, May 9th - Work Day
Mon, May 11th - 1st Hammerhead Swim Team practice

Other updates:
* We are resurfacing and painting the tennis courts this Spring – they will look and play great!
* Our volunteers did an AMAZING job clearing out the mess by the tennis courts at the last workday. The area has now been properly graded and seeded – what a difference!
* 2009 membership info is now online. Dues remained the same (but the late fee is back). In lieu of early bird discount, we are paying $25 for participating in a workday. We also added a new category for Singles.

Enjoy your Spring and we hope to see you soon!

HHSTC - Going to the Braves - May 16th!
The Atlanta Braves are inviting the residents of Huntley Hills to join other neighborhoods around Metro Atlanta for "Neighborhoods Unite at Turner Field" on May 16th vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks at 7:10pm. This event will include a pre-game block party in the plaza as well as other "neighborhood" themed activities throughout the game.
Residents of Huntley Hills together with their family and friends will be offered a discounted ticket for this game at two ticket pricing levels, $5 per ticket in the upper bowl or $10 per ticket in the outfield. All Huntley Hills residents will be seated with their neighbors in both seating locations.
Think Green and call up your neighbors to make plans to carpool to Turner Field on May 16th. To reserve tickets or request additional information, please email Huntley Hills resident (and HHSTC member) John Farrell at john.farrell@braves.com or call his office at 404-614-1562.

New Blog in 2009!
Well, I'm back to blogging! It's been a long time since I've updated this. Sorry about that. Life has been busy since May of 2008. Whatever.
And if you are one of the few people who actually read the Blog in 2008 (thank you, btw), you may notice I've changed the site. Without boring you with technical details, I'll just say that Google has this blog thing figured out and it's way easier than dealing with it in iWeb. So I copied all the old blogs over but didn't bother re-loading the photos b/c I didn't think it was worth 20 minutes of my time.
So, all that said, what's up with 2009?!?
Well, we have many new awesome board members, we are soon going to redo the tennis courts, there are lots of workdays planned (and this year we are going to PAY you $25 to show up and work!) and the calendar is already packed full with parties and fun social activities.
Start saving your dues money now...the late fee is back!
And if money is tight, rejoice in the fact that we are still one of the cheapest clubs around town and you can spend every Friday and Saturday night at the pool, eating cheap cookout dinners or sharing in potluck parties. Can't afford to go anywhere for the holidays? Come to the pool! We'll have food, games, and other fun surprises for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day.
We know we said last year was the best our club had ever seen...but this year is going to be even better. We promise!

Another Long, but Productive Night...
Just a quick recap of our not-so-quick Board meeting last night. Let’s see...we are replacing ALL of the old pool furniture this year, mostly to save big on shipping costs (this will include 4 new tables/chairs/umbrellas), we are not paying for any landscaping this year (we will just have to rely on our workday volunteers and their chain saws), we are going with Bell South for our NEW wireless Internet, we are not getting the keypad entry (costs too much, can’t afford it), we are getting all new signs in and around the pool, we are not getting a cover for the baby pool this year (costs too much, maybe next year), we are going to have new super cool, personalized pool tags (you’ll just have to wait and be surprised!), the dirt pile by the tennis courts will be gone soon, the debris piles from the workday will be picked up in the next couple of days, we are getting 1 (maybe 2) BIG shade umbrellas (in addition to the 8 umbrella tables) to replace shade lost from the pine trees being cut, we have no idea how many members are coming back, since dues are not yet due and there was no late fee on the assessment deadline (but people will NOT be even allowed in the gate if they have not paid in full...we are serious about this!), our Memorial Day party is members only this year and food will be served (for a small price) from 11:30 to 2:30, we have had 6 new memberships already come in (yeah!), holes for the swim team flag pins will be drilled at the same time we install the baby pool fence, we are having a neighborhood open-house party Friday 30th from 5-10pm, the new 2008 hours have been approved and will be online soon (we are opening at 10am every day in July and August!), we are getting the clubhouse painted and all the doors replaced, and I’m sure there are many things I missed, but I’m not the Secretary, and is this not the longest run-on, most grammatically incorrect sentence you’ve ever seen?!?
It’s all I have time to do right now...
