Hi Members,
Oops. Forgot to mention - our swim team has evening practices from 7-8 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays in June. They take up most of the pool - but if it's a slow night and they have a lane free, adults can swim, too. Half of the shallow end is still available for free swim (and we have a lifeguard watching just that portion of the pool) - and of course, the "jail" (i.e. fenced in baby pool) is also still open, for parents and children 4 and under.
Oh, and the same thing applies to 10:30 am - 11am in June. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Upcoming Events:
Fri, June 1st: Cookout!
Sun, June 3rd: Good neighbor day - bring your friends for free (and bring a folding chair)
Tues, June 5th: Away swim meet
Wed, June 6th: Pot luck dinner
Thurs, June 7th: Swim-a-thon
Fri, June 8th - Cookout!
Sat, June 9th - Kids movie night
Sun, June 10th - Senior pot luck dinner
See you at the pool!

This week at the pool...
What a great opening weekend we had! Many thanks to everyone who volunteered to help make it a success - especially those who grilled all the burgers and hot dogs. Also, thanks to everyone who paid the guest fees - all of that money goes right back into the club, to help fund everything we do.
A special thanks also, to our new sponsor, GNO SnoBalls <https://www.facebook.com/GNOSnoBalls> - their snow cones were a wonderful treat to have on a hot day at the pool! Please let them (and all our other sponsors listed below) know we appreciate their support!
This week at the pool...
Tuesday - AWAY swim meet! You should have gotten details from John Jewett about the logistics, etc. If you have a child on the swim team (or a child that might join - it's never too late!) and you are not getting John's emails, please let him know: jwjewett@gmail.com. If you don't have a child on the team, this would be a great, relaxed night to enjoy the pool, as all the swim team families will be at another pool :)
Wednesday - Chick Fil-A <http://www.chick-fil-a.com/chambleeplaza> Night. As a new sponsor, Chick Fil-A is hosting a spirit night and giving a portion of all their proceeds to our swim team. If you don't feel like cooking (and who does?) - please consider eating at Chick Fil-A or even better, getting take-out in the drive-thru and bringing your dinner to the pool. Also - be aware, the Gramercy Park HOA is meeting in our clubhouse, so if you see lots people in non-pool clothes, walking into the clubhouse, don't freak out :)
Thursday - nothing special happening - just normal pool fun.
Friday - cookout from 6-7 pm! If you bought a punch card online <http://www.hhstc.com/Store.html> , it should be in the money box, waiting for you at the cookout table. Also, meant to say this earlier - we have veggie and vegan burgers available upon request. Click here for the sign-up sheet <https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsQyIehvdlzkdFFBdmZuWklIUTNpSF9zVm9ham8yY3c> to volunteer for grilling.
Saturday - nothing special happening - just normal pool fun.
Sunday - Good Neighbor Day! We open the pool up to Huntley Hills neighbors and friends/families of members - for free. We used to have an Open House on the 2nd Friday of the summer, but we decided that our Fridays are full enough and Sunday might be a better day for extra visitors. We may even get a bounce house for the kids :)
Have a great week!

Memorial Day Party Details and Sno Cones!
We hope you are planning to spend Memorial Day at the pool!
We are having a cookout from 12:00 - 1:00 pm (it may go later, just depending on the crowd). The usual deal: $4 for a burger/hotdog, chips and a drink. Bring your own alcohol, but please, no glass containers.
We will also have some contests planned - but we'll probably keep things simple and they will all involve the diving board. Are you brave enough to compete?!? As an extra incentive, we'll give away free meals to the winners.
If the weather is nice, we'll be crowded - so you might want to bring a folding chair or two - just to guarantee yourself a spot to sit throughout the day.
Also, this Monday - don't miss your chance to have a cool, refreshing, and delicious New Orleans style Sno Cone at the pool! One of our newest sponsors, GNO Snowballs <https://www.facebook.com/GNOSnoBalls> , will join us from 12:30-2:30pm. Flavors range from Fuzzy Navel to pink lemonade to blue raspberry and prices start at $2. You can see owner Gary, turn ice into snow! A portion of the proceeds go to our own HH Hammerheads Swim Team.
We hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend!

3 Memberships Left!
We are having another record year of membership. I just finished putting in all of the renewals and new members that came in this week - and we've added 34 new families this year!! We are capping membership at 175 - which means we only have 3 memberships left for 2012. Please spread the word to any friends you have that are thinking of joining.
Also, I've updated our FAQ online <http://www.hhstc.com/FAQ.html> and since many of you have asked why we are implementing a wait list, I figured I would include the answer in this email (and I wrote this answer before we got all the new families that joined in the last few days):
Wait List? Why?
We don’t have one yet, but we are capping membership at 175 households (we are in the mid 160s now). We run the Club as a business and treat our members as customers. We have to balance member satisfaction with our desire to increase income. If our current members feel the pool is too crowded - and therefore not safe and/or enjoyable - then we will have not properly served our existing customers. And if our current customers are not happy, we will not continue to build a good reputation and will not be able to recruit new customers, when needed. Member satisfaction is very important to us!
If/when we implement a wait list, it will be fair and 100% transparent. Not all clubs can say that :)

Pool Procedures, Guest Fees, Etc
Hi Members,
What a beautiful opening weekend we seem to be having! Pool tags will be at the front table for pickup all weekend. If you joined or renewed in the last couple of days and/or you don't make it to the pool before Tuesday, we will deliver them to you early next week. Please place the tag on your pool bag, cooler, stroller or whatever you normally bring to the pool. You just need one for everyone coming under your membership. If you lose your tag and/or need another for some reason, let me know.
Note: if you just joined your name(s) might not be on the membership list, please just sign in on the guest sheet and if anyone asks, tell them you are new members :)
We will have our membership list at the front table - please find your household name on the list and mark down the day/time you came and the # of guests you have brought. Guest fees are $4/person (kids 3 and under are free). The detailed policy is pasted below. There's a locked guest fee box on the front table, please place your cash or check in the box. If you need change, ask the lifeguard during adult swim (which is every hour, for 15 minutes before the hour).
We operate mostly on the honor system and we rely on our members to help keep people honest and ensure that everyone at the pool is a member or has paid the guest fee. Although, our Board members and lifeguards do randomly take the sign-in sheet and walk around the pool, just to meet everyone and say hello. Oh, and by the way, we also politely kick people out who haven't paid :)
Our head lifeguard, Nick (tall guy, brown hair, at the pool all the time) is great about enforcing the rules. Please let him know if you believe someone is at the pool and shouldn't be - he will handle it.
And if you've missed any updates or emails (especially for those of you who just joined and haven't received any emails), I try to put everything on our blog:
http://hhstc.blogspot.com/
Let us know if you have questions or problems.
And don't forget - we are having a cookout tonight (Friday) and Memorial Day.

Opening Weekend, Friday Night Cookouts and Membership Tags
We officially open Friday!! Since there's no school on Friday, we'll open at 10:30 am. And of course - Friday night cookout!!
For those new to the pool, here's the deal: $4 for a burger or hotdog, chips and a drink (soft drink, water or juice box). Plus $1 for ice cream. The grill is open for business from 6-7 pm (sometimes earlier, sometimes later, but always from 6-7). Cash, check or punch card (see below). Bring your own alcohol, but no glass containers, please.
We don't pay anyone to do the Friday cookouts for us - it's all volunteers. If you'd like to help grill and/or sell stuff (it's easy and fun!), please sign-up on our Goggle spreadsheet. Include your cell phone # so we can contact you to confirm details.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsQyIehvdlzkdFFBdmZuWklIUTNpSF9zVm9ham8yY3c
If you hate carrying around cash AND you love a deal - then you should buy one of our pre-paid punch cards. It's $36 and includes 10 meals and/or guest passes. If you can't do math - that means you get one free! Buy one now, before we sell out:
http://www.hhstc.com/Store.html
Just kidding, we don't ever sell out of those. But if you buy one before Thursday night, it will be included with your membership tag.
And speaking of tags...
Well, I sort of ran out of time and couldn't get them all printed and laminated and delivered in batches to the wonderful people who volunteered to help deliver them to everyone else. So...you can pick your tag up at the pool anytime this weekend. If you don't pick it up, we'll deliver them Tuesday.
And not Monday - because Monday is Memorial Day and we expect everyone to be at the pool! We'll have a cookout from 12:00 - 1:00 pm.
Tuesday is our first away swim meet (a GREAT, non-crowded time to be at the pool b/c all the swim team kids and families are swimming elsewhere).
Wednesday is Chick Fil-A night (details coming soon).
See you at the pool!

Fun, New, Good Things...
Our 2012 swim season is about to officially start and we have lots of fun, new, good things to report...
- We have over 20 new families joining us this year!
- We have more sponsors than ever before (details about that coming soon).
- Our 3 new Board members (Sarah, Glen and Jeff) are welcome additions and seriously, our Board is the best group of volunteers ever.
- Have you seen the new Nick Sheffey memorial bike rack? It looks awesome! Thank you, Braden Buck for installing it and thank you to everyone who donated.
- The baby pool has two new shade umbrellas (and double bonus - you can roll them around).
- Our bathrooms have been totally renovated! Just kidding. Maybe next summer? But we do have a new door on the men's bathroom b/c the other one broke (twice).
- We got a new container to hold all the community life vests, pool noodles, etc at the baby pool.
- We bought a new grill - yes, another one. We are hard on our grills.
- Our kitchen floor was stripped down and freshly painted (thank you Sarah Ferrara and Jen Murphy).
- Our kitchen fridge was also painted, so it looks newish.
- We got a new freezer for ice cream and ice (oh, wait, that was last summer - but we are still excited about it!).
- We got a new motor for the baby pool (ok, that's not exciting, and it was expensive, but now everything works).
- Nick is returning as lifeguard manager (that's the best news of the summer!), along with Joseph, plus one new guard (details coming soon).
- We already booked a professional DJ for July 4th. Yep, we are taking it up a notch.
- We have been making some serious pre-payments towards our loan balance - our financial future looks good!
That's all I can think of for now. Looks like 2012 is going to be another great season!

PS. We are having a meet and greet social for new members and Board members on Thursday. If you are a new member and didn't get an email about it, please let me know.

Hello All,
I hope this email finds everyone ok. What a 2 weeks of practice!! Some of you have been good about coming everyday and getting prepared for our first meet. Keep up the dedication! Remember the more you train the better we become. We have a tough season.
Suits - It was a 2 week turnaround for the imprint on the suits. We should have them back hopefully by the end of the week. I'll let you know soon!
Our total count is 91 swimmers on the team so far. Remember, it's never too late to join. If you know of any swimmers that want to join send them my way!
Coach Lili, Rachel, and Adam are working hard in getting the Hammerheads ready for our season. They will be offering private lessons, please contact them directly. Contact information is posted below.

We still need more sponsors. What better way to advertise than to hang a banner at the pool. It hangs all summer. We have local neighborhoods that visit our pool for the swim meets and tennis matches. We also acknowledge our sponsors during the meets.
See ya soon,

Membership Tags
If you have paid your 2012 dues, you will be receiving your membership tag(s) and additional information in your mailbox sometime next week (and at the very latest, before May 25th when we open :)
If your address and/or contact information has changed since last year, please let me know ASAP (otherwise you might not get your tags and/or the information will be wrong).
If you would like to help deliver the tags - that would be great! AND it would count towards your 3 hours of volunteer time, so you would get your $25 workday fee reimbursed. Please let me know if you can help.
Thanks!

Hello Members,
We are pleased to announce that our tennis court reservations will now be handled by ReserveMyCourt.com. This service allows you to check on court availability and make reservations from the Internet or via a toll-free telephone number. All court reservations will now be handled through this system, so please follow the instructions below to begin.
1. Go to http://www.reservemycourt.com and click on Player Sign-Up to setup a new player account.
2. Select HUNTLEY HILLS as your Home Facility.
3. Enter our Facility Code: XXXX. Fill in the remainder of you information and click SUBMIT.
5. Login at http://www.reservemycourt.com or call 1-877-ON-COURT (662-6878) anytime day or night to reserve courts.
We hope you find this new system easier and far more accurate and convenient than our sign-up sheets, which were very difficult to keep current.
There will be no sign-up sheets at the courts. You can print your reservation and bring it with you as confirmation and/or you can pull it up on your cell phone, via the web or text messages. Reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance.
Please let us know if you have questions and/or problems using it.
Thanks!

ps. Many thanks to Missy Pate for setting this up!

Facebook Photos
Hi Members,
I've added some of my photos from the 2010 and 2011 pool season onto our Facebook page. I really did try and edit out any photos that I thought people would find unflattering. Please check them out, tag (or untag) yourself and let me know if you want me to remove any particular photo(s).
Also, please be sure and "like" the page, so you'll get all the updates. Now that over 50 people like it, I'll probably start putting more updates and fun stuff on there (but will still send everything important via email).
