Master Plan Survey - Your Chance to Give Your Opinion!

Hi Members,

While we are busy planning for another great summer at our pool and on our tennis courts – we are also looking beyond 2014 and are REALLY excited about the future of our club!

We’ve had great success over the past few years and 2013 was the first summer in many decades that we operated debt free and fully in the black. You can read more about that by clicking here.

In addition to paying off our loan, we’ve also:

  • Fully invested in our tennis program (resurfaced the courts, built a new deck, painted the fence, replaced all the lights, bought new nets and added ALTA signs)
  • Added more picnic tables, pool tables/chairs, lounge chairs and small tables
  • Added more shade umbrellas
  • Resurfaced and painted the bathroom floors
  • Hired a professional landscaping company
  • Contracted to have our kitchen and facilities professionally cleaned all summer long
  • Added more lifeguard hours and swim-at-your-own risk hours
  • Started a Junior Hammerhead program

But we are not done. Our almost 50 year old clubhouse is in need of significant repairs and upgrades. Our parking lot no longer resembles asphalt and is being further destroyed by roots from all the pine trees.  Through planning, we also hope to add additional amenities for members to enjoy.

These are large ticket items that need to be considered as part of a Master Plan that we have been working on for the last year. We now have a professional survey of our property and we’ve received quotes for updating our current clubhouse and parking lot. We’ve also hired a professional architect to help us better utilize our property and design new and fully renovated clubhouse options.  We feel that a proactive approach, as opposed to waiting until large problems arise, provides a rare opportunity to enhance everyone's experience at the club.

We’re now at a point where we need direction from all of our members. Do you want a new clubhouse? What should be in it? How should we pay for it? Is a playground something we should add? Should we continue to add more members or keep the cap? What is your limit for a dues increase and/or assessment? Should we borrow money?

Now is your chance to tell us what you think!!

Here’s the survey link (closes March 21st):

Thanks!

ps. The survey is for members only (we will be checking the names) and given the questions on this survey, we are asking that only one survey be submitted per household membership.
