HHSTC Club Futbol

The Huntley Hills Swim and Tennis Club is pleased to announce that FIFA World Cup 2014 soccer matches will be streamed live from Brazil.  Plan to join us in the clubhouse throughout the tournament.

The first match will be next Thursday, June 12 at 4:00pm when Brazil opens against Croatia.  During the group stages we will have a daily "Match of the Day" at 6:00pm.  We’ll either stream the live 6:00pm match or a replay of a match from earlier that day.  Fan voting will dictate which.

On Sunday, July 13 at 2:30pm, join us for the Championship Match Final Fiesta.  More details to follow.

Nick Guerrero will be coordinating the viewings and is looking for “assistants” that can be available to setup the feeds when he is not available.  If possible, we’ll stream every match live.  Of course this is subject to availability in cases where the clubhouse is being used for another event.

Next Thursday at 3:00 pm before the opening game, we’re inviting all kids (and adults) who are working on their Panini Sticker books to bring them for a sticker swap.  If you’re in the dark about the worldwide craze dating back to the 1970 World Cup, here are a few articles to catch you up.  Miami HeraldWall Street Journal, and my favorite for non-soccer fans, UK Guardian.   And by the way, I’m looking to trade a Clint Dempsey, Eddie Johnson, or a Michael Bradley for a Geoff Cameron so I, (oops, I mean my son), can complete the US squad.

Contact Nick Guerrero, nick@nickguerrero.com, for questions.
